For each resource, a plan should be created. This will describe any mitigation and preparedness steps to be taken with that resource, both one-time steps and ongoing maintenance. The Recovery topic for this resource is the proof-of-concept for this plan - if the recovery cannot take place with the steps taken in this plan, then the plan is incomplete.
Describe the resource being protected, what the goals for protecting and restoring this resource are, who is responsible for this part of the plan, and by what date everything in this plan should be complete.
If any steps should be taken to mitigate the risk, such as using a fire-resistant filing cabinet, requiring all office buildings to be fully up to the latest earthquake codes, or providing a backup power supply, specify them here, along with a date by which these steps must be accomplished.
Describe what (aside from any mitigation steps already listed) will be done to protect this resource, and exactly how this should be done (specify the exact address of off-site storage, the backup method and media to be used, etc.).
Summarize the mitigation and disaster plan steps here.
